manenough70 says fyi. i had the worst expereince after i left the place it was so hard to get a cab the front desk lied to me when i called in the afternoon, they said it is easy to get a cab i had to walk nearly 400m to the nerest main street to get one thank god i was not late the food was good..but the service was extremely horrible i will never step foot in there again afetr that experience

I do sincerely hope the management of In & Out could change their service attitude and level. I have posted this review to highlight to them that they need to do something about "not lying" to customers in order to bring in business.
To be fair the food was good (3.5 stars). However all that I can remember is the horrible experience I got.
If I could given a lower star rating than 1 star if I could have.
Important Note: I was rushing home so that I could get back in time to accompany my wife to send her mother off to the train station for a train that was leaving that same night.

you are reviewing a restaurant and you say the food is good but you give 1 star because you had to walk 400m (4 minutes) to get a taxi?
and you paid 70 kuai for the meal?
in which way exactly is that restaurant responsible for you being a lazy ass or there is something else when you said the service is bad?
I am not trying to argue, I am just curious to know more

You're a moron marking this place 1 star because they said it's easy to get a cab.
Firstly, I am around Xindong Lu often (Paddy O'Shea's, Schindlers etc, some of my favourite places) and if you walk just a few yards to Xindong Lu or Dongzhimenwai Dajie it IS generally easy to get a cab, any time of day or night there are loads passing.
Secondly, how could you really expect such advice to be GENUINELY reliable in a city like Beijing? They probably gave you that advice in good faith but could you seriously discredit a restaurant because you didn't get a cab? Getting a cab here can be a sh***y experience, everyone knows that. Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you're just not, that's the way it goes here (or in any big city I've been to - Berlin, London, you name it).
Thirdly, if getting your wife's mother or whoever to the train station is important, mayvbe you shouldn't have been f*cking around having dinner with mates over the other side of the city.
You wand.

Service is better than 1 star. True, the staff seems to be worse now than before. But treat it like a standard Chinese restaurant where you have to continually yell and remind the staff of what you want.
Dongzhimenwai is not 400m from In and Out. It's definitely much closer. How fat and lazy are you? Based on your "English", you're not American so I'm surprised by how lazy you are. You must be an overweight 40 year old? The exercise should do you some good.
Why the hell would you eat at In and Out with seven other people when you have your wife and mother-in-law at home AND you have to see your mother-in-law off that night? How long have you been in Beijing? Don't you know Friday traffic is horrible.
I blame your laowai-ness and not In and Out.

Note: "In and Out" is referred to as "In & Out" in City Weekend. Are they wrong as well?
Additional info on the whole situation can be provided to the management of In & Out.
I would like to reiterate that, the whole purpose of writing this review is to highlight to the management of In & Out / In and Out (whichever you would like to call the restaurant) that they need to improve their customer service and not make empty promises to customers when they do not intend or could not keep them for whatever reason.
This improvement works for their favor and it for their own good.
The entire chronological order of the the development of the situation can be discussed with In & Out management. If there are CCTV cameras in the restaurant, we can take out the hard disk and review the development of the process step by step.
Ball's in In & Out / In and Out's court.
