22nd March. Dinner @ Migas. 8 people, 3,000 RMB for mediocre food. The people all in customer service related industries. Request from waitress to get some lemon juice and hot water. After 20 minutes, no water and no waitress. So I looked for the manager (overweight guy with glasses) and explained the situation to him. He replied, "maybe we don't have lemon". I showed him BOTH Lemon AND Lime on the drinks cart. He said "these are lemons, not lemon juice". I told him, "you CAN get lemon juice from lemons!". The MANAGER of Migas' reply was: "I know you. You are the owner of those restaurants. Why don't you come work for me as a waiter, and then you can squeeze your own juice!".... I was too dumb-struck and shocked to even come up with a reply. Yes, this is Beijing. Yes, we are used to bad customer service, but THIS?

Being sarcastic
lit·er·al·ly/ˈlitərəlē/
Adverb:
1. In a literal manner or sense; exactly: "the driver took it literally when asked to go straight over the traffic circle".
2. Used to acknowledge that something is not literally true but is used for emphasis or to express strong feeling.

I don't know how you stood there doing nothing.. I d have lost my tamper guaranted! I simply would have left the place without paying the bill, or call the owner on the spot if he want me to pay.. I wonder what kind of experience this fat foreigner has?

Lol..nobody gives a hoot what kind of 'famous' people you hang out with, honestly. Maybe you have a point on the restaurant, but it would come across more effectively if you didn't sound like a total prick.

Ah. The point of the people on the table is not famous people or name dropping, but people all in customer service related industries.

The owners of Migas have always been extremely decent whenever they have spoken to me. Yes, they slipped up on the service more than once before, but they always admit it, apologise, and make it right. I suspect there is considerably more to this story.
