A Taste of the Exotic - Pili Pili Opens on Jiangtai Xilu
Deriving its name from a spicy but simple African sauce made of chili peppers, garlic, lemon, oil and salt, Pili Pili brings the land of the Sahara indoors.
Sample the Tanzania coconut soup with sweet corn and rice (RMB 25) or go for a meal of PiliPili roasted chicken (RMB 45-75) complemented
with a glass of South African wine, including the Simonsvlei Shiraz (RMB 380).
For those with a taste for the exotic, PiliPili also offers an intriguing variety of meats, such as crocodile and ostrich meat skewers (RMB 88); and for less adventurous palates, the menu reads like a UN conference with cultural inspirations from across the globe: American standards like club sandwiches and beef burgers are served with sides of French fries and coleslaw (RMB 38, 42), while Italian pastas like spaghetti bolognaise (RMB 34) are offered just pages apart from Hawaiian and Mexican flavored pizzas (RMB 59), Japanese noodle soup (RMB 39) and chicken curry with rice (RMB 35).
Daily 11.30am-11pm. 9-6 Jiangtai Xilu (across from the Rosedale Hotel), Chaoyang District. (8448 3372) 朝阳区将台戏路9-6号(百丽酒店对面
