Is Gong Li on the Rebound?!

Gasp! Shanghai Daily reports that Gong Li, recently divorced from her Singaporean husband, was seen in Beijing holding hands with Shanghai co-star John Cusack! I wonder if he held up a boombox in the middle of a hutong.

According to the Shanghai Daily article, the two were seen returning to their hotel together late at night while promoting Shanghai in Beijing. Of course, Gong’s publicist refuses to comment on the status of her relationship with Cusack. The article is peppered with out-of-context quotes about the film stars’ fondness for one another- poor translation aside, Gong apparently thinks Cusack is “a wizard full of charms.”

Are the Shanghai duo really an item? Possibly. However, the speculation that Gong Li divorced her husband for John Cusack is probably exaggeration.

Is the relationship all just a publicity stunt to get press for the film? Maybe. All the drama does conveniently surround Shanghai’s release on the mainland.

Or perhaps it’s just a state-owned newspaper trying to spice things up with coverage of one of China’s most beautiful women?

Meeting on the set of a movie where they play lovers. How romantically cliche. Like Brangelina :X

I wonder what their tabloid nickname would be.... Johngli?
Gongsack?

Sometimes I feel it is maybe unbearable always be traditional Chinese girl.

Yawn. At the premiere of "Shanghai" Cusack couldn't stop gushing over Gong's acting ability. He also made it very clear he's in a relationship, with an Chinese-American woman. He did, however, hope to work with Gong again on a comedy, as he thought she was very funny and that people don't get to see that side of her.

pretty much every caucasian American woman between the ages of 35 and 45 are going to be crying in their sleep and screaming "Yellow Fever" pretty soon ...
