Coming Soon: Modo in The Village at Sanlitun
Alex Molina and Daniel Urdaneta (pictured above left and right, respectively), the dynamic duo behind the award-winning Mosto in Sanlitun, are set to unveil their new restaurant in the beginning of August on the third floor of The Village at Sanlitun.
Modo, whose name in Spanish means “a manner, a way, or method of doing an action,” will feature a menu that changes with the seasons and includes wholesome gourmet plates with finest ingredients. “Our menu encourages sharing plates, which creates an intimate but easy-going atmosphere, while the quality and presentation of the food will be of the same high standards you are used to at Mosto,” explains Executive Chef and co-owner Daniel Urdaneta, who will continue innovating and drive food creations at both restaurants. “Modo has distinctive elements and cuisines that make a unique culinary experience.” In addition, Modo will also introduce new Colombian Chef Juan Mateus, who previously worked in Argentina, and now would bring a few tricks of his own to the line of fire.
Wine will form a centerpiece of the Modo menu and customers will be able to sample 18 different labels by the glass using unique wine dispensing technology, or select from the wine list that includes over 80 great labels from around the world. The space, which can seat up to 28 customers on the main floor and an additional 38 diners on the mezzanine and outer deck, will also contain an interactive open kitchen, communal tables, and a wine bar. Watch this space for a New Openings writeup in the coming weeks.
