EAT: New Comptoirs de France in Sanlitun, Good France, New Ingredients at Miss Muesli, Hatchery Deals
Plenty of food news to keep you going throughout the week, which is exactly what Mighty Mo's over at Hatchery were thinking when they whipped up their new deals. Every Wednesday from 6pm, you can celebrate hump day with 'Pots & Pints', whereby a RMB 100 will you get a pot of mussels, Hatchery baked bread, and a pint of any beer on tap or a glass of house wine. We very went back recently and are very happy to report that the quality has remained as since our first visit.
Not far from Hatchery, and just in time for easter, Comptoirs de France has opened up a new storefront in Sanlitun, right behind Taikoo Li and below Laurent Falcon. More updates on what they'll be dishing up soon, as we start exploring what our fair city has to offer on the day of eggs and resurrections.
Over in the hutongs, Miss Muesli is bringing some new ingredients into the mix. If you're new to the concept, Miss Muesli is a muesli store that gives you the option to customize your own breakfast. Of course there are some set mixes, Granny Granola being an all-time Beijinger favorite. Now you can also add chocolate chips (which, as the wonderful women behind Miss Muesli remind us, contain trace amounts of serotonin which help act as anti-depressants!), pine nuts, chia seeds, cinnamon, and black sesame to your morning dose of oats. If you're wondering, Miss Muesli's pecan and cashew nuts are now completely raw, and the coconut is roasted but unsweetened.
And another reminder for foodies out there: Good France kicks off on March 21, with French restaurants around town getting ready to offer special set menus and reinvigorate your love of French cuisine across Beijing's finest French restaurants. Get your booking in now, as seats are bound to fill up quickly.
