Here’s How to Get Your Vaccination Records & NAT Results Back on Beijing’s Health Kit

The other day, following a recent update to the Beijing Health Kit, our Safe & Sane WeChat groups were buzzing with foreigners complaining that their vaccination records had been wiped from their Health Kit – with the phrase “No Vaccination Record” blinking in yellow instead.

This, coupled with the fact that many members of our Safe & Sane groups have had issues with seeing their NAT results in their Health Kit, has led to a lot of stress and worry. Thankfully, there are a few solutions.

Getting Vaccination Records Back

When reaching out to 12345 and Beijing United – where one of our foreign colleagues had been vaccinated – we were told to simply log out and log back in, or log out, delete the mini program, reload it and log back in. This didn’t work. When we notified Beijing United, one of their nurses told us that the vaccination records might return following a future Health Kit update, which they expect to happen within the next three days.

We reached out to the Beijing Big Data Center, the organization that manages Beijing’s Health Kit system, to confirm if such an update would be happening, but were not able to reach anyone for comment as of press time.

If you can’t wait for the next update and would rather have your vaccination records back in your Health Kit before then, there is a solution. All it takes is logging out and reregistering with your name as it is written on your vaccination records to get them back.

If you don’t have your vaccination records on hand, it’s easy to get them. All we had to do was call Raffles Hospital – where we’d gotten all our jabs – and they kindly emailed a copy of our vaccination records to us. Turns out the name appeared on these records as FIRST, MIDDLE, and SURNAME with a spaces in between, not written as it appeared in passport (SURNAME, FIRST and MIDDLE).

Once you have your vaccination records on hand – if calling is an issue, you can also go to the clinic or hospital where you got inoculated and request a certificate that way – go into the Health Kit mini program.

Click on your name at the top and click “log out” once you’ve reached the info page. From there, click the top section again and, when and if your information appears, delete your name and retype it as it appears on the vaccination record.

Then, log back in, take a photo of your passport, and your vaccination records should be good to go.

Getting Your NAT Results Back

This solution for missing nucleic acid test results was provided by another of our Safe & Sane group members per a poster they found at a medical institution (see below).

To see their NAT test results again, they sent in an email to neusoft-service03@wjw.beijing.gov.cn with the following information:

Full name, passport number, current date, and place where you had your most recent nucleic acid test administered (your compound or nearest subway station is enough if it’s close to the testing site).

Once the email is received, it should take one to two hours for your test results to update on your Health Kit.

Keep in mind, while the solutions listed above work for some, it still isn’t a one-size-fits-all situation. We investigated an issue with trying this method for those with names longer than 30 characters (an arbitrary limit put into the Health Kit) but were unable to find any workarounds as of yet. Plus, there’s the chance that records might show again after a subsequent Health Kit update, so you might just need to wait a couple of days.

Have you encountered or used any other solutions to fix these problems? Let us know in the comments!

Is it really that difficult to have a standardized input for foreigner's names? One standard across all industries, apps, banks, booking agencies etc. It doesn't really matter what the standard is, as long as there is a universal standard that everyone is aware of. I would suggest the following standard: SMITH JOSEPH EDWARD. The format as it is in every foreigners passport. Surname, first name, middle name. All caps, space between each word that composes the name. If hyphenated surname then eg SMITH-JONES JOSEPH EDWARD. Make this a universal standard across all possible uses which app creators, banks etc must be aware of. There have been foreigners in numbers here in China for over 25 years, and still this issue persists. It ain't rocket science. (of course, lurking at the back of my skull is the thought that maybe it's meant to not be easy for them surly waiguoren that we really don't want here anyways.)

I ran across one COVID checking app that accepted my foreign passport number, but said my name was wrong. I entered the Chinese name I use, that is on NO official Chinese database or document, and all was well. I was registered. I don't know if it actually works when checked. I refuse to set foot in the city after its COVID hissy-fit this Spring.

I spent two years taking cash out of one bank account traveling to another bank, depositing the cash in account at different bank, because my online cash could only be linked to first bank account and second bank (which new employer deposited to) had my name entered differently.

Relogging is not working for me. Is there any other way to get my vaccination record back. I got all three vaccination in China and they dare to wipe it out of my Heatlh Kit??? Why can't they just focus on the quality of the app and not just the "beautiful" heatlh kit page that they keep constantly changing, huh?

Also had this problem. I'd recommend calling the place where you had your vaccinations done and getting your vaccination record, then log out and type your name in as it appears on the record. One issue we've not been able to solve is if your name is over 30 characters (arbitrary limit they added in), still seeking workarounds for that.
