EAT: A Feast of Italian Options to Help You Break Your New Year's Resolutions

Early January is a pretty quiet time for the dining scene, what with everyone being in the grip of their New Year's resolutions. Here at the Beijinger, we're advocates of everything in moderation, healthy eating included. With that in mind, here are a few new deals and events, with a decidedly Italian theme, to help you enjoy these first few cold, dark months of the year.

Firstly, if you are determined to at least try and keep up the resolutions, Ramo are holding Green Mondays as part of their series of daily deals. That means you get RMB 10 off any salad when you order a pizza. Take a gluten-loving friend and claim the salad, or just eat both for yourself, we ain't judging.

Perennial favorite Bottega have revamped their set lunch menu, with two courses (RMB 88) offering a host of new options. Starters include kale salad, brushcetta, and a poached egg, spinach, and taleggio sauce (I've got my eye on this one), while mains stray from their famous pizza to include homemade pasta, beetroot risotto, and gnocchi with pork ragu (pictured above), among others. A few desserts are available and you can add a cheeky glass of vino for just RMB 30.

Finally, blow the diet compltely at Fiume's Polvanera wine dinner this Saturday, January 9. They're welcoming Filippo Cassano, owner and wine (and oil) master from Cantine Polvanera. His wines and organic extra virgin olive oil from Puglia will be combined with a four-course menu of dishes from Emilia Romagna, Fiume's signature, including the likes of ravioli with foie gras and truffle, and beef fillet with Parmigiano Reggiano and Parma ham.
