EAT: Bowls of Balls, Flo FroYo, and Get Your Mouths Watering for the Beijinger 2nd International Foodie Weekend
Our favorite Wednesday promotion, The Meatball Company's 'Subs to the Wall' (which was 50 percent off subs while stocks last, in-store and for delivery) is no more. Starting today though, these ballers are bringing in another promotion: 'Bowl So Hard Wednesdays.' Every Wednesday, you get one of their bowls at half price with a purchase of any drink, in-store only. We think we can accept that, too.
Over in Sanlitun, the recently-opened Cafe Flo, from the creators of Brasserie Flo, bring us FloYo. Yes, it is what it sounds like: their very own frozen Greek yoghurt. As per recommendation, we went with the mango option (RMB 52), which was delicious: not too sweet, and made using high quality fruit jams which are made using actual yoghurt. We also tried the sakura stawberry rendition, which was equally awesome. Great while Beijing's summer just keeps on coming.
And last, but certainly not least, we at the Beijinger are preparing for the 2nd International Foodie Weekend to take place on August 6 and 7, at Sanlitun Soho.
With foodie passports in tow, festival goers will be set upon a culinary journey: Bite-sized delicacies representing cuisines from over 20 different countries and regions will be on offer. Get your passport stamped after each food sample, and see if you have the mettle (and, of course, the stomach) to call yourself a bona fide foodie!
