EAT: Moka Bros Small Bites, One-Year of Cocottine, Steam and Save at Jing Yaa Tang
EAT: Your bite-sized guide to the best eats to be had in Beijing this week.
Moka Bros introduces new small bites
Bridge that awkward gap between afternoon tea and dinner with Moka Bros' new small bites. The small bites menu has three light options: seared shrimp with garlic and parsley (RMB 48), mixed nuts with dried fruits (RMB 28), and spicy cauliflower (RMB 22) available daily from 3-10pm exclusively at Moka Bros The Place and Moka Bros Solana. Perfect with a couple of drinks from their daily 4-8pm happy hour, when cocktails, house wine, and beer are just RMB 35 each.
Save on dim sum and Peking duck at Jing Yaa Tang
Jing Yaa Tang's all-you-can-eat dim sum lunch has always been one of our top Beijing dining picks, and it is currently on offer at RMB 158 per person. That price has understandably increased a bit in the years since it was first introduced, but it is still a fantastic price for lunch at a Michelin-starred restaurant. Even better, from now until the end of August, Jing Yaa Tang will give you a voucher for 50 percent off their Peking duck (usually RMB 328) when you dine-in for lunch.
Cocottine celebrates one-year anniversary with new dishes and discounted sharing menu
Mediterranean restaurant Cocottine in Parkview Green is celebrating its first anniversary with a slew of new summer specials. Sample sunny dishes like seafood risotto, tomato bolognese lasagne or black truffle and beef pilaf rice, or treat yourself to a big pot of bouillabaisse (RMB 198), which can be upgraded with sides like toasted baguette with aioli and add-ins like clams and mussels or crayfish (something akin to hot pot via the south of France). Alternatively, go for the one-year anniversary sharing menu priced at RMB 468 per couple, including signature dishes like kataifi-wrapped prawns and Milanese beef Osso Bucco, as well as two glasses of red or white sangria.
