Hotel G to Close This Month

A late Friday night report indicates that Gongti west gate boutique hotel Hotel G will close this month.

Although Hotel G representatives could not be reached immediately for comment, the hotel's website indicate it will not accept reservations for stays after January 19.

Hotel G is probably best known to Beijingers as the home of wine bar and restaurant Scarlett. The venue won multiple the Beijinger Reader Bar & Club Awards, including Best for Wine (Hotel) in 2011, and outstanding designations for best wine bar in 2013, 2012, and 2010.

The hotel opened in the spring of 2008, buitl and owned by Hong Kong-based Gaw Capital, which also owns Dongzhimen serviced apartment complex Embassy House.
